Lead Pastor – Jane Prestbye

jane_09032012Since September 1999, Kent Lutheran Church has had the pleasure of Pastor Jane Prestbye serving as lead pastor. She and her husband Fergus reside nearby in downtown Kent, Washington. She has lived in northwest Washington all her life except for some time in Minnesota while studying for her Masters of Divinity at Luther Seminary. She has served several congregations in the northwest area including Bellingham, Seattle, and Bothell, where she devoted time to Christian Education and Youth Ministry. Before accepting her call to Kent Lutheran Church, she was on the faculty of Trinity Lutheran College (formerly LBI) for thirteen years. Pastor Jane excels at getting people together to talk, listen, think, pray, laugh, and serve. She delights in any opportunity to help people consider God’s love in and through their lives.

Director of Music Ministries – Sean Haley

sean_09032012Sean is a native of Washington state having grown up mostly on the Olympic Peninsula. He graduated from Peninsula College in 2000 studying music and Pacific Lutheran University in 2005 with a Bachelor’s in Music concentrating on organ performance, conducting, and composition. He also has extensive experience in musical theater having worked as a keyboardist, composer, arranger, conductor, and even lighting designer with many of the theater groups on the Peninsula and abroad. Sean has been an active church musician since the age of 8 and worked for Lutheran and Episcopal churches in Port Angeles and Tacoma. When not doing pipe organ work with Marceau or church work, Sean is actively involved with the Illumni Men’s Chorale as the Resident Conductor. He also runs his studio, Digital Klavier Music Group, doing freelance arranging, orchestrating, and composing for various forms of media.

Mona has been KLC’s Treasurer since 1999.  She was baptized and confirmed at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Everett.  After graduating with a degree in Accounting from WWU she worked for Lynden Incorporated for 40 years.  She joined KLC in the early 1990’s.  Since then she has served as Council representative for Social Concerns and Property Management, and Council Vice President.  She is currently a member of Memorial, Social Concerns, and Property Management Committees.  She is also the treasurer for The Kent Community Supper, Willows Place, and Kent CROP Hunger Walk.

Financial Secretary:  Kathy Nixon

Kathy has an Accounting Degree from Eastern Washington University. She has been a member of Kent Lutheran Church since 2002 and the Financial Secretary since 2011.
