Today’s world can be dangerous. We frequently read and hear about violent crime but never expect it to happen to us. What would you do if you were facing a violent assault? Would you fight back or become another victim? What actions would you take to protect yourself, a loved one, or friend?
In three, two-hour classes, you will be given an introduction to modern self-defense techniques taught by an expert in self-defense karate and jujitsu, Sensei Gary Mikasa. Sensei Mikasa will discuss self-defense topics as well as demonstrate and lead practice of common self-defense techniques. The class is designed for women of all ages and physical abilities and will highlight the following subjects:
- Recognizing danger
- Avoiding dangerous situations
- Trusting your instincts
- What to do if confronted
- Psychology of an attack
- How to respond
- Don’t be a victim
- Using your body as a weapon
- Other weapons you normally carry
- Vulnerable targets for self-defense
Come in comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and be prepared for a fun and informative learning experience.
