Junior High/Middle School Ministry – ‘Faith Thinking’ (confirmation) is the main focus during the Middle School years and it includes parents. Youth and parents are together for the class time at 4:30 on Sunday afternoon, and we eat dinner together at 5:30. Following dinner (and usually some group fun), we split into small groups with youth in one group and adults in the other. We usually meet five times in the fall and five times in the spring. There are also two retreats each year. Middle School students are also invited to the PAC (Pretty Awesome Cluster) Events and to service projects with high school youth. On Sunday mornings, the youth participate in Teen Time where they have faith conversations during the Sunday School hour (10-11am). This is a faith nurturing opportunity for KLC middle and high school students.
Middle and High School Youth – The youth have many wonderful opportunities to serve our community. Teens are encouraged to participate in the Teen Table on Sunday mornings for activities and faith conversation during the Sunday School Hour (new topics each week leading to discussion, communications, fun, fellowship and challenge). Every other month, we meet with our PAC group (includes youth from area churches in Kent and Renton). Youth participated in activities that include serving meals to H.O.M.E, lock-ins, Blessing Bags/Hockey night, just to name a few. During the summer, many youth participate in mission trips to serves those locally and in nearby states. Graduating High School seniors are wrapped in God’s love with handmade quilts in June.
